Welcome: Policy requires decisions with important consequences for the citizens of Indiana. Some decisions involve issues concerning addictions to substances such as alcohol, cocaine, opiates, marijuana and nicotine. A grant, from the Indiana Family and Social Support Agency to the Indiana University School of Medicine, was funded on the premise that evidence from relevant research studies should inform the policy making process.
Indiana Policy Makers span a wide range of functions: the legislature, administration and judiciary of the State and its counties; school boards, police and social service agencies, to name but a few. The grant pays for development of lectures and seminars about topics that can tailored to their specific interests.
